Comment on the Belmont Club "Looking out the window"

The title "Looking out the window" comes from Vaclav Havel's New Year's Speech. Only 20 years ago we were worthy of being graced with an ally whose President's ambition was,

I would like to say that I want to be a president who will speak less and work more. To be a president who will not only look out of the windows of his airplane but who, first and foremost, will always be present among his fellow citizens and listen to them well.

Now we have a malevolent narcissist who throws those who trusted the better angels of our natures to the wolves and who perverts the very eyes that would look and the mind that would process knowledge of what is outside the window.
