Racing the Storm

The Ship of History Heeling over at the turn of the New Year may be thread worthy. The Blackwater decision is important. We should not get caught up chasing a one day moving average but a trend is another matter. The Rassmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll trend is now clear.
Obama's core support is down to 24% and he is now solidly in the minus 15-20% range, and trending down. As his Total Job Approval rating shows the moderates are breaking against him.

A week is a long time in politics but it is very hard to see a recovery from this. His time horizon is not 34 months but 10 months until the midterms. His strengths are that he controls the Tarp slush fund and that he may be uncaring and ruthless enough to keep pushing.

Does anybody think that the AP posting an article, "2010 situation grows more difficult for Democrats" is just a burst of good journalism or a bone to the History books? What will the pillars of the new order, the media, the academics, the connected traders, do as the wheels come off the aristocratic project?

On a related topic there is an Instalanche to a Politico article on Dems attacking Rasmussen.
