President Obama said "Abraham Lincoln helped to build the intercontinental railroad in the middle of the Civil War"Guess that was why they called him "the railsplitter" so it all makes sense now. Obama reads like the ignorant but wise talking kid who makes it up as he goes along. Teachers love to pass around those essays for laughs. Would not surprise me if he answered a question on Martin Luther and The Investiture Controversy with 3 pages on the Reverend Dr King's suit that got left at the Dry Cleaners.
That must've been before the transcontinental railroad was finished in 1869.
