This is only different in degree from the product of Shephard Fairey who graduated from his "OBEY" vandalism sticker campaign while a student at RISD,
to the Obama as Mussolini poster. The Left coalition of 2008 benefited from the emotional release of organized vandalism among supporters who have been conditioned to view politics as theater.
I am not the first to notice the comparison.
Now that most people are focusing again on politics as being a response to the real world some of those who tasted the frisson of power are desperately acting out to preserve their fantasies. This is not a new phenomenon, the Islamists have been doing essentially the same thing for over 600 years. Who wouldn't want to emulate their success?
