Perhaps we need an Amendment to eliminate the Lame Duck.

Congress shall adjourn before any General Election. Should the President need to summon Congress into session earlier than the date set for the new Congress then that Congress shall assemble and be sworn in before commencing business. Departing members of the old Congress may remain for only 10 days to effect a transfer of duties. The Speaker of the adjourned House shall remain until the new House assembles and chooses its Speaker.

Food, Finreg, and Health Care form a Trifecta. Now unelected bureaucrats can pass regulations and investigate anything. These three build on the regulatory authority of the FDA and the EPA, which have recently shown that they can and will intrude into controlling every facet of human activity. They can forbid you buying or possessing anything. They can now, since the judge rejected the challenge to the Health Care insurance mandates, order you to spend your money buying anything they deem important. No government, not even Mao's, had the set of tools to control and dominate human behavior that the US government has now assumed.
