Comment on Wretchard T. Cat on Facebook:
LGBTQ Bigotry: Tyranny Masquerading as Tolerance
The same government that partners with the crybullies to defame isolate and demonize opponents, and then destroy them through the courts, refuses to use the police and other agents of government to protect the targets from real threats. This is done under the penumbra of the SCOTUS ruling in The Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales which held that the police have no duty to protect. To do so though uses a grant of tactical freedom to the police, whereby they get to assign their resources and react as in their professional judgment is appropriate, to provide a license for participation in an actual conspiracy to deny citizens of their civil rights. For an otherwise honest police officer to argue that he did not respond to a call for help, because to run down that alley without backup would have been tactically unsound or that departmental priorities assigned them to other duties, is not the same as if a police commander said "Screw 'em" when he heard that blacks or Jews or gays or straights were being targeted. The Broward Deputy who failed to respond did not do so because his superiors had ordered him not to citing the SCOTUS ruling. Quite the opposite in fact and he has been charged. Local authorities who abuse their office to enable assaults against the civil rights of any group or individual should be brought to justice.
